The LANY show has been upgraded from Dingwalls to Heaven - all existing tickets will be valid.
LANY have announced details of their second single. ‘yea, babe, no way’ will be released on June 17th through Polydor. The effortless alt-pop glide of ‘yea, babe, no way’ is another brilliant reason why the LA trio are one of 2016’s most exciting new bands. The three-piece belong in the lineage of adventurous US indie bands who match eclectic grooves to indelible hooks.
Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss formed LANY in 2014. The old school friends collaborated on some songs that Klein had written and within days they had created a clutch of anthems that were too good to ignore. The band record and produce everything themselves in their apartment in Malibu. Even at this early stage, their songs have connected on a large scale: the blissful dream-pop of ‘ILYSB’ made big waves when they put it online and has had over 15 million Spotify plays so far. Their debut single ‘Where The Hell Are My Friends’ is already nudging 4 million plays in a matter of weeks. LANY create music that makes the intimate feel universal and connects them indelibly with their growing army of fans.
LANY are set to be one of the breakthrough live acts of the summer as they take in a global tour of festivals from Reading and Leeds to Bonnaroo. They have been honing their live set through support slots with Twin Shadow and Halsey. This year they played their first headline tour of the US and sold out every show, with the demand to accommodate smitten fans resulting in extra dates being added and rooms extended. Their show at New York’s Soho House saw queues round the block and was attended by fans Sam Smith and Ryan Tedder. LANY are currently out on another jaunt with Oh Wonder. One reviewer noted “The relationship between the band—especially Paul—and the audience transcended the norm; it was one based on clear mutual need” (5/17). It is the beginning of something big.
