ABOUT
When The 1975 first emerged in 2012 with the Facedown EP, it was instantly clear that this was a band that were going to be controversial, even problematic, for some. Their sound was unashamedly glamorous (one of Matty’s favourite words), the lyrics heart-on-sleeve, spill-your-guts confessional, their music brazenly diverse. And, in their frontman, the band possessed a singer who saw live performance as a precipice just asking to be jumped from.
The 1975 are an English alternative rock band, consisting of Matthew Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Adam Hann (lead guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass) and George Daniel (drums).
They have released four EPs and a self-titled album which quickly went to #1 in the UK Albums Chart in 2013. 1975's second album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it , was released worldwide in February of 2016 and debuted at #1 in the UK Albums Chart and on the US Billboard 200.
