The Dictators are a punk rock band formed in New York City in 1973. Spawned from the petri dish of CBGBs and the 70s Punk movement. The Dictators have made their mark in music history, as being one of the forefathers of American Punk Rock. Originally formed as a homage to bands like MC5, The Stooges and New York Dolls. Their fast aggressive sound became the archetype that has been adopted by countless bands.
