$7 at the door!
Marrow's New York Times featured debut album, The Gold Standard, spotlighted the band as Indie Rock's Next Big Thing by Chicago Magazine, and one of the most adventurous yet well-executed Chicago Albums of the year by the Chicago Redeye. Since its release the four-piece band, featuring members of Tweedy, and Chance The Rapper, has been touring and working diligently on their second album, produced by James Elkington, with songs that demand attention and display in fine form what this band is capable of.
The Phantom Broadcast is a music group based in Urbana, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois. We aim to create music that pushes the boundaries of indie rock and pop music through approaching song structure with contemporary jazz and classical elements. The result yields instrumentation atypical to rock music, lively improvisation expanding from shorter recorded versions of the songs, and a new approach to the performance of each song every time it is played. Our influences range from Radiohead and Fleet Foxes to Miles Davis and Eberhard Weber.
MATTHAÜS is a new project based in Chicago. The idea was to bring a different musical aesthetic and style to venues and audiences with more pop sensibilities. The music strives to be challenging and inviting; visceral and intellectual; grand and humble.
Drawing on a wide range of inspirations from contemporary composers like Steve Reich and Georg Friedrich Haas to pop artists like Bon Iver and the National, the music of Matthäus is at once dark and technical as well as introspective and lyrical. With a focus on unique orchestration, not only is each song an exploration of different sounds and timbres, but each performance features a different group of musicians and instrumentations.
Matthaüs is led by musician and composer Ben Montalbano and is releasing their first EP in March of 2016.
