Johnny Marr is the creator of an iconic guitar sound that made a permanent impression on popular music. His groundbreaking work in the 1980s with his first band The Smiths continues to influence songwriters and artists all over the world, and his music career shows no signs of slowing down. Now, one of Manchester’s most loved guitarists and songwriters returns to his native city for a rare in-conversation event about his forthcoming memoir, Set The Boy Free, and his impressive career as a solo artist and member of later bands including The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribs. A candid account of his journey from the council estates of Wythenshawe through The Smiths’ tumultuous climb to the spotlight, breakup and beyond, Set The Boy Free is one of the most eagerly anticipated memoirs of the year.

Tickets £12 or £27 with a copy of Set The Boy Free
