Star Shaped Club - Supersonic: Oasis Special!
On Saturday 15th October we're throwing a huge Oasis and Britpop party to celebrate and mark the cinema release of Supersonic, the Oasis documentary from acclaimed director Mat Whitecross, focussing on the bands early years from 1994-1996.
Phil Smith - Phil has been the official DJ on every Oasis world tour since 1997 and has been part of the Oasis team since the very beginning in 1993! Before that, he had been part of The Stone Roses road team, working with The Stone Roses at all their landmark shows like Blackpool, Spike Island and Glasgow Green.
After a brief stint working for John Squire's Seahorses in 1996, Phil returned to the Oasis camp in 1997 as the on-tour DJ playing all the music before, between, and after the bands. He has DJed around the world and is heavily featured in the DVDs The Making Of Definitely Maybe and the Lord Don't Slow Me Down documentary and remained the only official DJ until they split in 2009. Since 2011, Phil has been DJ for Noel once more on the Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds world tours, taking in Latin & South America, New Zealand and Australia. He has also been interviewed for and will feature in the forthcoming documentary Supersonic which will feature some of his previously unseen personal photos, documenting the early days of Oasis.
Star Shaped - The biggest and best Britpop night in the country (TicketWeb UK) will be running before and after the event. Accredited by artists of the era as The Home of Britpop , the legendary club will be ensuring the party goes on long into the night!
