A defining figure of the european electronic scene, Wax Tailor’s unique sound lays somewhere between cinematic electro and orchestral hip-hop. Digging through the crates of the forgotten melodies, the DJ / producer crafts musical fantasies where silver era hollywood and 20th century music come together.
This ambitious combination is in full effect in his live shows, combining the frenchman’s turntables skills with live musicians, vocalists and video projections. A unique experience which has rocked the crowds of festivals such as Glastonbury or the Montreal Jazz Festival and sold out shows in more than 50 countries.
Wax Tailor is back with a new album “By Any Beats Necessary” inspired by his travels over the south of the USA. Designed like a road trip where Lee Fields, Ghostface or Tricky hitch a ride , the album leads us on a fabled road where blues, psychedelic rock, soul funk and hip-hop collide. The accompanying live show will be the first in three years with a full band.
