Combining alternative rock with electronic and hip hop
elements, Icon for Hire presents a unique sound onto the
21st century musical landscape. A chance meeting in 2007
between vocalist Ariel and guitarist Shawn Jump begins
the biography of Icon for Hire, and soon afterwards
drummer Adam Kronshagen came aboard for the Decatur,
Illinois-based band. Their first full-length album Scripted
was released in August 2011, and enjoyed almost
immediate chart success. Their first single Make a Move
also charted, and the band's concert bookings increased
as a result. In October 2013, the album Icon for Hire was
released, followed by largely positive reviews and
reaching No. 66 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart. In
June 2015, Icon for Hire gained independence from their
label, and performed all of Vans Warped Tour for the
second consecutive year. Earlier this year the band
launched a Kickstarter campaign in support of their new
album You Can't Kill Us which became the most
successful Kickstarter music campaign of 2016 to date.
You Can’t Kill Us is being released in an innovative way -
3 tracks every three months throughout 2016, in order to
continually provide new content to their highly dedicated
fanbase.
