MARC HOULE (Live)
Biography.

While the global EDM scene still debates the merits of “pressing play,” techno veteran Marc Houle has been wowing audiences for over a decade with a live performance that is constantly evolving night after night, in city after city, at clubs and festivals worldwide.
The skill and effort that goes into creating these truly “live” sets is the result of an entire lifetime dedicated to electronic music and a deep love of the machines that make it.
Raised adjacent to Detroit in Windsor, Ontario, in the same fertile music community that spawned his former label boss and mentor Richie Hawtin, Houle’s obsession with electronic sounds goes back to the noise of ’80s video games and vintage synthesizers. And while too many electronic artists use their machines as merely tools of convenience, Houle regards his with a dedication found in few producers. The results have been extraordinary. A decade-long career of seminal records on Hawtin’s Minus label, as well as his own Items & Things imprint, that not only helped define the beloved minimal sound of the mid-‘00s (“On It”), but had a laugh at its expense (“Techno Vocals”), before transcending the limits of the sub-genre completely by incorporating industrial, disco and new wave influences (“Undercover”). No wonder Houle’s records have found their way into the crates of DJs far-flung from his typical list of peers. How many producers can create a track as adaptable as “Bay of Figs,” an underground club favorite favored by his Items & Things partner and star techno DJ Magda that also managed to find its way into the hearts of stadium-trance audiences via megastar DJ Tiësto.

Ironically, even though DJs of all sorts play Marc’s records, you won’t find Houle delivering a DJ set any time soon. A committed live performer, he arrives at each gig equipped six superb albums worth of material (like last year’s playful Cola Party), plus dozens of favorite singles, remixes and collaborations (including his 2013 partnerships with Miss Kittin, “Where Is Kittin” and Click Box, “Razzamatazz.”). And then there is the steady stream of new music - whether it's a brand new tune from Houle's home studio, or a remix of a classic cut (like those found on the 10-year anniversary remix of his Restore album by Joris Voorn, Popof, Julian Jeweil and Danny Daze). No matter what time or tempo, Marc Houle has exactly the right Marc Houle tunes needed for the nightclub, after party or festival stage.

IGOR VICENTE
Biography

Producer, remixer, DJ and label owner, this multifaceted artist Igor Vicente is turning into a truly global electronic music proposition. Vicente’s unique sound is built up over 4 or 5 hours creating a smooth blend of House & Techno full of effects often creating surprise in his sets. Signed with Anja Schneider’s prestigious label mobilee, there seems like nothing is stopping him.

Growing up in Mons, Belgium, Vicente grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown KC & The Sunshine Band’s and Warren G. His passion for electronic music started in his teens when he discovered the sounds of Steve Rachmad, Richie Hawtin, Technasia, Dave Clarke, Funk D Void, Kenny Hawkes, MFF, Lance De Sardi, Brett Johnson, St Dic (RIP), Dj Sneak & Derrick Carter. It was infatuation with sound of music that pushed him to create his legendary Wildfamily parties, which saw the likes of Jamie Jones, Clive Henry, Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves, Matthew Styles, Sammy Dee, Matt John, Tobi Neumann, Dinky, Pier Bucci, Los Updates among other DJ friends.

In 2011, Ultrasone was born and the duo started producing tracks for famous labels like Visionquest, Supplement Facts, Hot Creations and Maison d’être with remixes on Saved, Get Physical and Air London.

2013 saw Vicente put Ultrasone to bed and focus on his solo career. He has since released Hot Creations bomb, The Knight with a remix by Jamie Jones. His residencies at some of Belgium’s best clubs Café d’Anvers and Fuse have only firmly imprinted Vicente in the electronic dance music scene. With the success of his solo career flowing, Vicente founded a new brand and label ‘State of Flow’ which has gone from strength to strength and see’s it’s first vinyl release from French based trio LYE in February 2015.

2015 is set to taste of a rich upcoming year for Vicente with another release on mobilee, a remix for Uner on Supernature, a remix for Alejandro Vivanco on SoundArchitecture, a remix for Michael L Penman on Decay Records and one for Jules & Moss on Acumen’s new label. March will see an EP release on Get Physical. He currently continues to release on Mobilee records and of course the latest bomb ep HausBoo on HotCreations again.
