For the first instalment, we are excited to reveal that we will be joined by one of Detroit’s finest musical educators, Mike Huckaby. Supporting him will be eclectic selector and Berlin resident Red Rack'em and Flux resident Archie. Heading up proceedings in the other room will be acclaimed Chilean Panoramabar resident Dinky, Flux's very own Jacques Adda and TheseDays DJs.

Tastemaker, educator, sound designer, and Motor City proponent. Mike Huckaby has done much for Detroit electronic music. The man behind the once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopaedic knowledge of music. He is one of those guys who knows all the roots and culture of electronic dance music. He is a person who can see beyond the hype and divisions within the scene. Mike knows exactly what the music is. Mike Huckaby has become the busiest remixer from Detroit in the past few years. Mike has been busy producing music on his two labels, Deep Transportation, and S Y N T H, which are well known amongst underground DJs worldwide. With highly acclaimed deep house productions and remixes for Deepchord, Juan Atkins, Vladislav Delay, Pole, Loco Dice, LoSoul, and Pacou (just to name a few), Mike sees no end in the near future. Furthermore, Mike Huckaby has been touring, DJing, and teaching music production with Native Instruments and Ableton software at Youthville, and around the globe extensively. When the discussion of the Detroit / Berlin connection comes to mind, Tresor or Hardwax is usually discussed. But the Detroit / Berlin connection of the millennium and beyond is taking place at Youthville with the assistance of Ableton and Native Instruments, and the work Mike is doing there. Mike brings the Detroit sound of deep house and techno with him. He knows the balance between deep house and techno like no other.

Dinky was born Alejandra Del Pilar Iglesias Rivera and was named Dinky by her sister at birth. As a Child she studied Ballet and the Suzuki method (Piano). From a very early age she showed a natural musical and artistic talent. Born and raised in Santiago to a musical family, she is a leading member of Chile's second generation of electronic-music greats. In her early twenties she turned out her first productions; within a couple of years She had released a spate of records in labels as Sonic Groove, Traum and Carpark, ranging from ambient, minimal house, techno to downcast new disco and electronic pop. In 2003, she moved to Berlin, a city that had captured her imagination nine years earlier during the heyday of E-Werk and Tresor. It was a good move: by 2005 she would release the massive Acid In My Fridge for Sven Väth's Cocoon imprint; the record became a massive hit . Dinky has gone on to become a regular fixture across the continental scene, playing regularly in the most important clubs, like DC10, Fabric, Amnesia or Cocoon Club, while in Berlin she currently holds the honor of a Panorama Bar residency since 2004. Dinky never limits herself to one style. An album in Crosstownrebels will be released in the fall of 2016.

Danny Berman (aka Red Rack’em) is a respected DJ, broadcaster and producer with a colourful 20 year journey behind the turntables. Initially an aspiring junglist, at the age of 19 he was abruptly thrust onto the peak time of a huge drum and bass rave in Bristol to cover for Randall who was stuck in traffic. ‘One minute I spinning mellow tunes in room 3, next minute I was in front of 1000 people with MC Jakes barking ‘Rewind’ at me’. He somehow survived this baptism of fire, which led to further bookings alongside Andy C, Scratch Perverts and Roni Size. Fast forward to 2009 and Danny is again thrust into the limelight – this time by Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and Zane Lowe hammering his unreleased remix of the Larry Levan classic ‘Stand On The Word’ by the Joubert Singers on Radio 1. Gilles professed Danny ‘can’t put a foot wrong right now’ and invited him to appear at the Worldwide Awards to play alongside Jazzanova and Marlena Shaw at Cargo in London. 2010 saw Berman, launching his Bergerac label with ‘The Early Years’ album and cross genre techno hit ‘How I Program’. But lets not forget Dannys own formidable DJ skills. He’s a seasoned selector with the unique ability to play house, disco, techno, garage, bass music, broken beat and jazzy beats in the same set without any break in dancefloor energy. This has led to appearances far and wide including Fabric, Lux, Dommune and several Boiler Rooms (he was asked to curate his own Boiler Room to launch his Hot Coins album in 2013).
