Fifty years ago, in 1966, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was founded in Long Beach, California. Featuring founding members Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden, plus Bob Carpenter and John McEuen, the band has performed at the Big Top nine times since 2003. The band's successes include several Grammy and CMA awards and nominations, the seminal 1972 album “Will the Circle be Unbroken” plus hit songs too numerous to mention including: Mr. Bojangles,” “An American Dream,” “Make a Little Magic,” and “House at Pooh Corner.”
