DESCRIPTION

Bob Woodruff is a critically acclaimed songwriter and recording artist from NYC. He has recorded for various labels including, Restless/Enigma, Elektra/Asylum, Imprint and Interscope Records. More than a few top critics have stated that his albums are among the finest country-rock records ever released.

His songs, which meld R&B, Country and Rock, have attracted some of the most talented players in the world to his recording sessions and are sweetened by many Rock ‘n’ Roll and Country Music Hall of Famers including: Emmylou Harris, Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), Gary Tallent (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band), Bernie Leadon (The Eagles), James Burton (Elvis), Glen D Hardin (Elvis), Marc Ford (Black Crowes), Lucinda Williams, Sam Bush (New Grass Revival) and Pig Robbins to name only a few.

While Bob took some time to pursue other interests outside the music business for a while, he is currently living in Los Angeles where he is writing songs and composing music for motion pictures, television and other recording artists. Sound Asleep Records, a Swedish label, has recently released a recording session he did in Nashville several years ago entitled, “The Lost Kerosene Tapes 1999”, which led to a successful Scandinavian tour and a new record deal in Europe with Rootsy/ Warner Nordic. His latest album, “The Year We Tried To Kill The Pain”, was recorded and released in Europe in September 2013 where it debuted at #1 on the EuroAmericana Chart.

“Bob Woodruff’s 1994 debut album, Dreams & Saturday Nights, was one of the finest country albums of the ’90s….he is a master of the well-crafted story-song” – NO DEPRESSION

“Dreams & Saturday Nights mines the seam between Springsteen and Steve Earle.” – ROLLING STONE

“Woodruff’s material has a classic resonance and the vocal harmony of label mate Emmylou Harris is typically exquisite”– ROLLING STONE

“Some like Son-Volt and Wilco are converted punks. Others like Bob Woodruff and Gillian Welch are Nashville outsiders with too much personality for the mainstream country machine”. – NEWSWEEK

“Bob Woodruff’s Dreams & Saturday Nights is unquestionably the best album to come from Nashville in Years”. – CMJ

“A lyricist of enormous wit and depth..Woodruff hews to the Hank Williams Sr. school of songwriting, using intensely personal lyrics that occasionally come close to standing as poetry on the written page.” – CHICAGO READER

Apres Pompeii is the moniker of Chicago based singer-songwriter Zack Weiss. He is currently celebrated the release of his new full-length album, Lead. The release blends dynamic songwriting, strong melodies, and intensely poetic lyrics to form a signature alternative folk sound.
