We have just received the sad news that Charles Bradley has been taken ill and had to cancel all of his tour dates for 2016.
We will be contacting all ticket buyers to arrange refunds in due course. Our best wishes go out to Charles.

The story of the against-all-odds rise of Charles Bradley is a remarkable one: a tough life of homelessness, ill health and frustratingly futile attempts at a musical break was transformed overnight after Gabriel Roth, head of Brooklyn’s cool-as-hell Daptone Records, stepped into a New York club and heard Bradley – then aged 62 – impersonating James Brown.
Clearly a serious talent that needed to step out of the dive bars and into the limelight, the Daptone team wasted no time in getting Bradley into the recording studio, setting him on a path to soul success. Three acclaimed albums and countless high-profile shows later, Charles Bradley’s star continues to rise and doesn’t look set to stop.
Bradley’s distinctively rough-hewn timbre bears the unmistakable voice of experience – each note and gruff inflection an expression of his tumultuous personal path – and his live performances exude both a raw power and poignant beauty. Not for nothing is he known as “the screaming eagle of soul”.
On warm-up duty is one of Tru Thoughts’ very finest, Harleighblu. Combining a classic yet distinctive soul voice with a love of bass and beats, Harleighblu’s sharp, forward-thinking style of soulful pop music is dusted with grit and glitter in equal measure.
“Bradley’s success is a result of his music, which overflows with the ingredient most crucial to soul music – soul… He sounds battered and bruised but still standing. He aches but is never angry. There’s heartbreak but also hope. In a sea of acts tagged as ‘throwback soul’ or ‘retro soul,’ Bradley is neither – he’s the real thing.” – Washington Post
“Bradley is a classic showman. He sells every syllable, dropping to his knees, outstretching his arms, shaking his hips. And that voice, both pleading and plaintive, anguished and extraordinary.” – Los Angeles Times
