The Clever Ruse (BTV)
Clint Bierman (guitar), Peter Day (bass), Sean Preece (drums), and Josh Dobbs (keyboards), are regulars around the Burlington music scene. Bierman and Day play in The Grift, as well as in Honeywell with drummer Russ Lawton (Trey Anastasio Band, Soule Monde). Preece is a longtime veteran of Honky Tonk Tuesdays and a plethora of other projects and Dobbs plays with Dead Set and Cats Under The Stars, among other bands as well. Together, all four have a deep love and respect for the music of Phish. What was going to be a one-off “Phish night” a few years ago was so much fun they did it again. And again. They learned newer, more challenging songs, kept honing their jamming and kept finding it too fun to stop.
