Join us for some soul grass to warm your heart when Sweetwater String Band from California takes our stage!
Sweetwater String Band is cello driven soul grass , founded in the Eastern Sierra of California in 2008. Beginning with a weekly gig at their local bar, the band quickly found themselves on the biggest stage in the area less than a year later at the Millpond Music Festival. My hat goes off to Sweetwater String Band for finding a singular sound that seamlessly melds the sensibilities of traditional and progressive bluegrass (Shakedown News). Their music often deals with serious issues such as mountaintop removal coal mining, workers rights, and finding middle ground in todays divided political arena. This seriousness is balanced by ghost stories, drinking songs, improvised jams, and tales from the long, lonesome road. Gideon Thomas of No Depression describes their lateset album River of Rhymes as: a work of both intimacy and wide-scale, cinematic vistas…instantly likeable, a truly worthy listen.

Thunder and Rain is an alternative country band from Golden, CO. They released their debut album Holler Out in 2015 and have since been touring and introducing their music to fans all over the United States. They will be releasing the Run With You EP in the summer of 2016 in anticipation of their sophomore album coming this winter.
Originally started in 2013 as the duet of Erinn Peet-Lukes (Guitar) and Pete Weber (Mandolin), the band now includes two Wisconsin natives, Ian Haegele (Bass) and Rachel Reichert (Fiddle). With the use of bluegrass instruments and Erinn's powerful vocals, the band has captured a sound that accentuates their talents and is accessible to fans both young and old. Thunder and Rain's depth and unforgettable melodies are putting meaning back into modern country music.
