Skyway Theatre presents...
Stone Arch Isles
Stone Arch Isles began performing in September of 2016, and since then the group has played numerous venues around the Twin Cities. Their rise to popularity in the local indie scene is, in part, due to the authenticity of their sound, which is easily noticeable in their Local Session videos on facebook and Youtube. These sessions display the band's music in raw, acoustic form and have garnered tens of thousands of impressions on social media. Their sound lingers at the intersection of West-Coast indie and British pop rock. The tracks resonate with the harmonic complexity of groups like Local Natives and Young the Giant while delivering candid, contagious melodies reminiscent of Catfish & the Bottlemen
After releasing their first full length album with their new keyboardist, it's clear Goodnight Gorillas has taken on a more atmospheric and dream like sound compared to their past work. With Melt Velvet Dreams, the four piece alternative-indie rock band is delving into cinematic art rock, resembling influences like Radiohead and my bloody valentine. All four members are currently students at the University of Minnesota and have built a fan base within the Twin Cities area.
Q-pup is Luke Roberts. A local acoustic artist focusing on honeyed melodies and abstract and compelling lyricism. His new album Ancient Agriculture and What It Means is available now.
Half Mannequin is the Bedroom Pop solo project of Remo Drive's Erik Paulson. Blending the songwriting sensibilities of the Smiths with the sonics of Prince, the band maintains a high energy while remaining subdued. Their 2016 debut EP, Summer Songs, is available for free on bandcamp.
